rds on wysp

YSP is now using their rds in the way other free fm's are, title, artist and then on free fm, not bad, will MMR follow suit, or do we really care.
 
The way YSP is using it now, title, artist, station ID-eg Free FM, Oldies 96, and station calls. Some stations just put up calls and ID. Its nice to know the artist and song title same as Satellite radio incorporates.
 
I guess the only reason they wouldn't put up song and artist would be either an older model of RDS that only offered station name and format discription or an older harddrive system that didn't interface with the RDS. It's cheap, a one time investment and allows a boost in modulation. Who wouldn't?
