RDS Pensacola/Mobile

Well it looks like the engineers are bored again. RDS has showed up on the following stations.

(NOTE: It is very basic RDS)
TK101
LITE MIX
Q-100 (It has had it for awhile)
WRKH

WMEZ/WXBM had it then it went away???

WYCT -
WKSJ - Why don't they have it?

Is it that expensive and complicated to install. It would be nice to have a title and artist scroll on the car radio.

Any thoughts cceng. What does the folk in Mobile say?

title and artist requires an IP or serial data circuit between the studio and the transmitter site....they might be using their only data channel on the STL for transmitter control....I don't have title and artist on any of the 5 FM I have here in Panama City for that very reason....hope to change that in 2008.

Thanks..didn't think about that. Does Panama City plan to do any HD in the future. Not a Analog simulcast, but different programming. And what are your thoughts on AM HD in your cluster. I know this has really touched a nerve in many folks.

We have plans in place for the FMs to go HD.... I really shouldn't say more than that.

What about the FWB market? or are we left out in the cold of HD?
I can picture 93.3 being a HD station easily as they are one of the highest rated stations (i believe country 105.5 is #1 correct me if I'm wrong)

I am not sure why Rob thinks 93.3 is rated so highly...they have been on decline for quite some time
