I have a friend whos looking for an RDS capable boombox or stereo for home use. He's seen one on BSW< but that's not what he wants.

Any ideas?Tips?Leads?

He likely saw the Denon tuner, which of course has no amplifier for speakers. He could buy an RDS-capable car radio and mount it in a nice table-top case.

There are some that are in use in Europe, and might be compatible here in the USA:

I'm using a European set-top RDS decoder, and it works fine in Tennessee. Except... that the format codes are different in Europe. So it might tell you your local CHR is news/talk, or the religious station is country, etc...

(said decoder has since been discontinued, so don't ask me where to get one!)
