RE-320

I bought one of these for my personal use (remote voicetracking).

I have to say that I am very impressed. I can hardly tell it from the RE20. I wouldn't hesitate to use these in other situations.

Just a quickie impression for you guys.

I'm debating on trying the RE320 microphone but what I can't get my head around is the +13 decibel proximity bump around 100 cycles. The RE20 doesn't have this and they're both supposedly Variable-D microphones. I own three RE20s and I just thought if the 320 was a close comparison of the RE20, I would just use the 320 on bass drums, but I have absolutely no craving for an extra 13 db low frequency signal mudding the output of a bass drum. The last time I checked, there was approximately $160 USD difference in pricing.

Does anyone have more information on this?

Thanks,
Dennis

My advice....Go with the RE-20....and know what you get..."If it ain't broke, then don't......"
Thanks, JBI

Yes, I have acouple of Heil...but really I think in the broader contex, my 72 year old ears evaluate them about the same...The rolls are yours with my regards....Tnx JBI
