Re-air of the Texans v. Titans

Caught this last night on SR 610. What is the purpose of re-airing the Texans game 2 days after the actual game was played? I just can't imagine a lot of listenership for a game where the result has already been determined. Is there a demand for this?

There's a joke in here somewhere.

Like the one about the Aggie who bet his roommate 20 bucks that Texas wouldn't score a TD on the next play. When Texas scored, the Aggie bet double or nothing on the instant replay.

Back in the days when lots of small-town stations were daytimers, the Friday night high school football game would often be played back on Saturday morning. Of course anyone who cared already knew the result.

Sounds like they have some air time to fill. And, they may even be getting a "second bite at the apple" from the original game sponsors. It's always been anything-for-a-buck in this business.

Must be a CBS thing. KRLD-FM does the same thing for Dallas Cowboys football games.

It was probably part of the recently renegotiated CBS/Texans radio contract. It's almost identical to the one in Dallas for the Cowboys.
