Re: An idea (maybe a stupid one) - TIO
Not necessarily. If CC intends to continue WPOP as a sports station, then it might want to consider either NBC or CBS Sports. For those of us who listen to talk, the Hartford market, the capital of a blue state, with a totally Democratic Congressional delegation and a majority Democratic House and Senate and all I get for issues radio is an ex-felon governor in the afternoon drive, preceded by a drug addled liar who is bleeding his company dry, a Fox News bobblehead (Tantaros), a bigot (Savage) and a chickenhawk who four years ago stated that he would be water boarded for charity to prove it wasn't harmful, and still hasn't done so. (Hannity).

They can carry some shows from ESPN and some shows from FOX plus keep Bower on in Afternoons and put Paul Nanos (the current local morning host on FOX Sports Radio 1410) on in mornings.
Clear Channel can then do something different with 1410. I don't know if it exists, but they can put an older Country Format from Premium Choice on 1410. It can complement Country 92.5 and it can be bonused to Country 92.5 advertisers. Plus to localize it a little bit they can have John Saville and Wendy from 92.5 Voice Track a couple shifts. If Premium Choice doesn't have such a format they can use Dial Global. Plus they can also add NASCAR.
