Why a country format, conway and north central AR are already saturated with country formats KHPQ,KCJC,KYEL,KARV fm,KSSN,KVOM,KHKN just to name a few in Conway I could get most city grade.

The first mistake they made was failing to BEG Monty Rowell to come over and run the station for them. That would have been instant credibility.

While all those stations you listed are country, there is no country station serving PRIMARILY Conway and Greenbrier. I would say that my good friends at KHPQ are the only ones who probably sell in the Conway community with the exception of KVOM. Country is what is hot right now... You look at the county-by-county ratings and it is always number one in the small markets. So they are going to target the area and try to convert the KSSN listeners to the new signal, and tell those Conway advertisers, "YOU can get your message heard without paying Conway prices..."

They'll have listeners. Will they beat KSSN locally? Probably not... but if they do LOCAL radio there in Conway without trying to be a Little Rock station there is a good chance Mr. Crain may make a little bit of money with the deal.

That town has not had a radio station in years (KASR is a pirate as far as I am concerned because Mike Harrison has screwed everyone in the state... He shouldn't be allowed to own a hot tamale stand much less a radio station) and I think they are ready for local radio. It is just a question of how good of a job Ray Daugherty and crew are willing to do....

Format was determined through extensive research and focus groups.

Of all the stations you listed, KSSN AND KHKN are the only ones that city-grade Conway. (KHKN does not city grade Greenbrier).

Country listeners buy and finance Pontiacs, Buicks, and GMCs.

However KHPQ does get to Greenbriar city grade and covers all of Conway
