With all the bickering on the posts below you guys are missing one big point....A major station in a major market feels oldies is still a wortwhile,viable,profitable,format....OLDIES IS NOT DEAD.
I am hoping 94.7 in Chi town takes the WLS calls and uses their old jingles( WLS-am is their sister).Music radio WLS, Landecker, Lujack, Edwards,Biondi,Winston... those were the days... LONG LIVE BOSS RADIO!!!!

oldies in Chicago

We're not bickering- it's a healthy back & forth discourse and exchange of thoughts and ideas (spirited as it can get, at times).

You are right about the MusicRadio era of WLS with Lujack, Landecker & co. It just wouldn't fit the music era approach they now have (which is too old, anyway).

Agreed - no matter how you spin it, it's good news for oldies fans.

No, but one thing is for sure, my dad would have given us one warning to stop this "bickering"; then the s*ht would have hit the fan blades at double speed:)

Chicago

Anybody who thinks this spirited & free exchange of ideas is "bickering" ought to get out of the kitchen if they can't stand the heat (including your ol' man).

OldiesCat, very few men would have wanted to tangle with my 'dad'--not "ol' man"--to move him out of the kitchen. Anyway, you are right about this being a great exchange of ideas and positions.
