Re: Scott "You know" Brown on WRKO.

Who said WJDA is dead. Thought the local Quincy radio station signed off this summer but I swear it was back in the form of WRKO's 9-12 slot. 'JDA had a so-called talk program called "Party Line" and this is what RKO's segment sounds like in the form of state senator Scott "You know" Brown. Brown may have an accomplished daughter, Alya and wife, Channel 5's Gail Huff but I hope he is a better legislator and lawyer than a talk show host. He has the annoying vocal crutch that he throws in every few sentences. Specifically, Brown keeps saying "You know" just like some Valley Girl saying "like" every other word.

WRKO has to do better than this.

Perhaps, they should could consider someone like Karen Marinella who is a real news professional. Channel 56 is ending the 10 O'Clock News in December and she will be available. She has a great voice and she is a native, Plymouth. So, Karen Marinella has a true sense of this area.
If she comes off like a news person that's okay. Maybe that is exactly what WRKO needs after all the turmoil on that station.

Re: Scott "You know" Brown on WRKO.

NOPE, GET A REAL HOST IN THERE.

But, agree, this is the worst programming ever for wrko.

Tell you what: why don't you go down there and do a show and we can judge you. He's OK; not a radio
hep dee jay voice necessarily, but kinda sounds like the guy next door just chatting with us. Friendly.
He probably wouldn't say "f-- les----" on the air but if he did it wouldn't come off as mean spirited as
DePetro probably made it sound.

The phrase "worst programming yet for WRKO" is getting overused here. He's just doing a fill-in for a couple
days and keeping it local. Local. Here is the amount of local programming Air America 1200/1430 has run
since its debut on 10/4/04 (and I'm not talking the short Tingle bits) on weekdays:

Zero.

Here is the amount of radio experience Eddie Andleman had before the Sports Huddle started:

Zero.

Yet he turned it into a long career.

I suppose WRKO will hire either a "pro" host, or maybe someone who has had no experience before but
could be interesting. Or a syndie host like Beck but more often than not they'll be LOCAL. Good? Who
knows. "But at least ah TRIED," as Clinton recently said...

right, that's why we leave it to the pros, not amateur hour

>>an hour on AMERICAN IDOL

Hey it's what people want to talk about...popular show plus his daughter was on it.

Re: Scott "You know" Brown on WRKO.

sorry raccoon, hope you're fooling there, Brown stunk..

They have Jeff Santos on Sundays.

Re: Scott "You know" Brown on WRKO.

Note that I said "on weekdays". Santos is once per week. 3 hours weekly vs. 13 hrs weekdays and more
on weekends...

Re: Scott "You know" Brown on WRKO.

Brown was a disaster, no other way to say it..

brown stunk. i'd rather hear shemp lauzier or ghoul sarandis for three hours.
depetro got nailed for being an idiot and a fraud. he head the lowest numbers on wrko after feinburg. at least feinburg had an excuse of being up against sully and sox on weei. depetro was up against soft programming - taped news on wbz, the plagarist on wtkk and the view on weei. and he still couldn't sell himself.
