I know a bunch of you guys have an issue with that DE dude for whatever reasons in the past, but is that stopping you from taking what he has to say seriously?

Does it stop me from taking him seriously? No.... But that doesn't mean I believe "everything" he (or anyone else for that matter) says.

DE is right about some things, and wrong about others. I'm right about some things, and wrong about others. The difference here is if I have been proven wrong, I'm happy to stand corrected. DE on the other hand feels he is never wrong.

Re: Winter book out today-deleted

So again, I ask the question, rather than bitching about how DE never thinks he's wrong, has anybody bothered to see if, you know, he is actually wrong here.

The way I see it, DE is saying that KEGL's ratings are all 6a-3p. While KLNO is beating them 3p on (I assume)...

So is that true? If so, for all the bluster about what a great guy Omar is, is he getting his butt handed to him?

Re: Winter book out today-deleted

Considering Omar's age,he is doing well for what he has to work with. So,D.E. is not entirely right. D.e.'s station doesn't truly rely on local talent as well. The thing here little 1 is this . You hate seeing the animosity toward's D.E. Well I ,Robert (and perhaps some others) hate it when D.E. comes in, and literally disrupts a thread like he is a broadcasting sage whose opinions we must bow to, or he comes in and feels he has to correct someone's opinion he disagrees with, yet doesn't accept the fact he can be wrong. He has been,as I have been, Robert has been and you have been from time to time. The world still revolves. KEGL did well, they beat KLNO over all..thats it simply put. Don't spin the numbers saying , "Yeah BUT" Accept your station placed behind overall ,and resolve to do better next time, instead of not accepting defeat graciously. D.E. is a good example why radio suffers. Narrow in scope and not viewing the whole scene.

Yep. Check Arbitron in 12+ and 25-54 and from 3 PM on, KEGL is beaten by KLNO. The opposite is true 5 AM to 3 PM.

This is a guy who was at KZAB when it closed, Mega Denver when it went back to English, Mega Albuquerque when it went back to English and now oversses 3 PM to Midnight at KEGL, the two dayparts where the station is #3 and not # 2 in Spanish. At all hours, it is beaten by KESS, KLNO's sister station.

So,D.E. is not entirely right. D.e.'s station doesn't truly rely on local talent as well.

I never said it did. Recuerdo is a network half the time and local half the time.

I remind you that there is no proof of this, since the one area where you think you are right and I am wrong is in the matter of Columbia Broadcasting Corp where you sustain that documents in a librry collection disprove widely verifiable data on the consistent profitability of CBS from the time Stanton bought it.

(Of course, there was the ridiculous thread you were apparently part of that sustained that XEG in Monterrey was on the US border...)

KEGL did well, they beat KLNO over all..thats it simply put. Don't spin the numbers saying , "Yeah BUT" Accept your station placed behind overall

One, KESS, was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead, the other took two dayparts for second, KEGL took two second places, too. The point here is that the dayparts they were second in are the NETWORK dayparts... they are third in the local ones that are locally programmed.

and resolve to do better next time, instead of not accepting defeat graciously. D.E. is a good example why radio suffers. Narrow in scope and not viewing the whole scene.

This statement from a person who recently sustained that unless one was a jock on the air, they could neither love radio nor be creative. Does that put anything in perspective?

Re: Winter book out today-deleted

The previous post from D.E. is a clear example of what he is disliked for. He chooses to attack people who he feels are wrong, or changes the subject to get the focus off of him and back onto the person who doesn't worship the ground he walks on.

Come on Dave, lighten up!

Facts seem to bother you, don't they?

A prior post asked for ratings facts, while Mr. Plex praised a guy who has lead three stations to the point of format flips... maybe a record in our sector... and you object to setting the record straight.

Re: Winter book out today-deleted

Thank you Robert. D.E. also proved my point. "He can't truly see the forest because of his tree", and he can't let go either.

Facts don't bother me at all. Personal insults however, do. Like that time you insulted another poster because of his spelling.

As you don't seem to recall, that was a tit-for-tat retort for a similar criticism... unless the error is egregious, spell and grammar flames have been pretty much a violation of netiquette since the days of phone couplers and BBS boards.

What is interesting and on topic is that Clear, at about 9 AM CST flipped their Spanish FM to English in Philadelphia with an Alternative format, and moved the Spanish format to a dog AM, 1480, replacing a gospel format that had been living there. So much for commitment.

I'm just yanking the chain of a couple of people over at the competiton... but it turns out they got their chains really yanked by the ever-so-pleasant Clear Channel management, who ordered Omar to nearly stop talking and told them to follow the network party line on music... due to being beaten in 3-7 and 7-Midnight. A simple monitor or MediaBase report will ´prove it.

That must be a horrible place to work, and it can only get "nicer" once it goes private.

Oops, it appears Little Davey got turned down by the Evil Empire :D

Why would you even think that I would want to work for that place?
