"Reach FM"

While traveling to Buffalo tonight to take my sister back to college, I was DXing the radio near Lockport, and heard a Christian Contemparary station called "Reach FM." Fortunatly, I was able to catch a legal, but none of the stations were for the Buffalo area. The signal was on about 90.5 or 90.7, and carried well into the city of Buffalo, past UB Campus, and almost to the Buff state campus where my sister is. However, I can't find any station or translator for "Reach FM" in the Buffalo area on the website. Does anyone know what this is? Is it new? Is it a station, or translator?

Reach radio can be heard loud and clear in Toronto on 88.1 FM now that CKLN is off the air.
I believe it's actually broadcasting somewhere in the States on 88.3 FM and somehow leaking it's way into 88.1

The 89.3 FM translator used to be owned by Family Life but was traded to REACH FM. I'm not sure why the FCC hasn't changed this in CDBS yet as this transaction was a few years ago. Family Life broadcasts on 88.3 - WCOU from Attica and has a translator in Buffalo at 88.1.

There was strong sporadic-E DX activity yesterday. What you (the OP) likely heard was WREH in Cypress Quarters, Florida. Sporadic-E DX from FL to NY is not a shock as one might think. WREH runs 100 kW on 90.5. Cypress Quarters is near the city of Okeechobee, along Lake Okeechobee.

Reach FM runs many translators throughout FL. Here is their site:

Take a listen, and see if it was, or was not, similar to what you heard!

Worth mentioning here that there are two different "Reach" networks. The WREH one, "Reach FM," is Florida-only, based at the Calvary Chapel of Fort Lauderdale. In addition to WREH itself, it uses leased HD2 channels on several big Clear Channel-owned commercial stations in Orlando and Miami to feed dozens of translators all over the Sunshine State. http://www.reachfm.org/where-to-listen/

The "Reach Radio" that has translators in Buffalo and vicinity is based at WXHL (89.1) in Christiana, Delaware, and uses satellite-fed translators in 11 states. http://www.myreachradio.com/whatyouresaying.html

Both have grown explosively over the last decade or so.
