Real Class Hillman

Wow, only 2 hours on the air in the New Year and I've learned 2 things..

1. You think it's dumb when someone who's secure in himself can actually go to a gay bar and have a good time. What are you afriad of? Afraid you may actually like it?

and

2. You think it's hysterically funny how Dick Clark sounded on New Years Eve. I didn't realize stroke victims were a laugh riot.

Real Class.

Yep - that sounds like the Hill Man. Used to really love his show - then he seemed to get full of himself and became a jerk to listen too. Now I listen to the Buzz on 101 as my morning show.

Hill has been full of himself ofr years and was part of the reason I stopped listening. Typical Greg "uninventive AOR" Hill.

Anyone who makes fun of the way stroke victims sound, or anyone with some sort of disability, for that matter, is a sad individual. I was a big Howard Stern fan, but I did not like at all the way he exploited those with marginal mental capacity.

But remember this - Dick Clark has had a more successful, varied and (I would assume) satisfying career than Hillman will ever have.

Hillman, I hope you never have to go through what Dick Clark, myself and thousands of other people suffer early year, a debilating stroke. You have NO class whatsoever. Making fun of people on-the-air who have suffered a near fatal stroke is not what I call showing some humanity. Maybe 'AAF SHOULD go BACK to Stiles Hill in Boylston so that fewer people don't have to listen to that kind of crap. Consider 107.3 to be off my preset list. Jerk.

I for one give Dick Clark much credit. To come back from a stroke after having to learn to walk, and talk all over again. For someone like Hillman to make fun of this is nothing but a “Pabulum puking scum” as Mortin Downey Jr. would say. I hope you end up doing overnight radio in some remote cold village with a listener ship of one. I’ll add my vote for JERK!

You know, I lost my mom to a stroke four years ago, so I should be more sensitive to this than most. Having said that:

I always thought Hillman was a hack at best, BUT if you think O and A werent making fun of Dick Clark's speech, or if you think Howard wont when he signs on on the 9th on "eh eh eh" you should probably think again. It's the nature of shock today and although Im sure Hill man doesnt see himself as a shock jock, constant mentions of "Mis Mantown" girls etc pretty much put him in that category.

I remember when I got home Saturday night, I had tivo-ed the show because I couldnt believe that Dick Clark would be on live given how severe his stroke had been reported to have been. When I heard his slurred speech I thought "wow somebody is going to have a field day with this".........Remember this though: Dick Clark has been around longer than any of us so if I thought that, HE MUST HAVE REALIZED THAT ALSO, yet knowing this he still went on national TV and hosted that show.....my friends THAt is balls that none of us would have had!. BALLS!!!!!!.

It's ok, you dont' have to say eh eh eh anymore, he's not a 'XRK now...LOL

But seriously, you're right, I'll bet that they won't be on the air for more than 2 mintues before it comes up, however...it's still wrong to do so, and In my little and humble opinion, they should get some sort of fine or something for making fun of such a horrible thing. I get the whole shock jock thing, but I don't get being outright cruel towards something that is not controlled by anyone.

I'm quite sure a lot of morning shows made fun of Dick Clark today.

Doesn't make it right. And everyone knows I'm not defending Greg, but I'm sure he wasn't alone in that "comedic element".

He just happens to be in the crosshairs now because of the morning show market shift.

Well that's the thing: I always think to make fun of things or situations that people have put themselves in it's fair game, but something like a deformity, or a stroke victim? I would just not have in me to do. NOW Stern I'll admit I have laughed out loud at some of the cruelsest stuff in that vein that he has come up with but he also can do it with a certain humanity that no one else really has and that's why he's Howard Stern and no one else is. I dont think you fine someone like Hill for doing what he did, he has the right to essentially say whatever he wants whether you agree or not, thats what has been wrong with radio. The companies and the fcc have completely whitewashed it and made it bland for the sake of indecency compliance but then when you get someone who will abuse the ability to say what they want well it doesnt help the cause. The way you fine him is you stop listening and you even boycott or what have you, people sit up and take notice whheen you hit them in the pocketbook!.

um...huh? Feel free to explain the correlation between making rude jokes about a stroke victim and wiping ones butt....because I'm at a total loss.

That is really whatIi said, I said he has the right to say whatever he wants and if you want to "fine" him stop listening, which is the same thing as turning it off or boycott, that is the way you fine him hut him in his pocketbook.......

By saying "wipe your own butt", Mr. Beal is probably saying that people should take action against offending programming themselves by changing the station instead of demanding that others clean up the airwaves for them. He probably could have made his point without the unnecessary crude analogy, though.
