Here's a chance for you to critique a REAL station without the bias of knowing what station it is. In about 5-7 days I'll post what station is was. Of course region does matter, but you can add comments like that as well. i.e. "This station would only work in the south."

Add any comments you like, but please give it an overall rating of 1-10 as well. Have fun!

The thing I see wrong is, you got TLC Waterfalls, and Green Day-When I come around scheduled next to each other, with only a break and no current in between.

Station looks like a typical CHR otherwise, nothing really bad, nor anything Earth Shattering about it. I give it a 4 out of 10. Its a bit on the conservative Adult side with 90s hits including Goo Goo Dolls, and matchbox 20-Bent

I did like seeing the Rock hits by 3 doors down, 3 days grace and Flyleaf, but not enough Rhythmic Hits or New Current hits, and I think the Colby Callat track is a stiff, I wouldnt play it.

Station looks like KRBE or 95 SX.......

Colbie Caillat's Realize is huge...top 5 callout on CHR....powered by a lot of stations...including my 2

I don't see the new Colbie Cailat doing too well on CHR radio either, though it might do okay in the smaller markets.

Wow...anyone here who's actually IN THE DEMO wan't to chime in about whether or not it's a hit?

Hint: If you actually find women in the demo and play the song for them, I bet you'll be surprised.

MWC...for the sake of arguement, what would you consider "Earth-shattering"? I honestly don't mean that in a scathing way...I'm genuinely curious. I tend to agree with most of your opinions and am wondering what yours is in this case.

You mean this song?

Oh yeah, I'd be very surprised to see this one go Top 10 or even Top 20 on CHR/Pop radio. I was happy to see Fergie's "Finally" tank as I find it to be an awful ballad, and currently CHR radio is saturated with slow songs anyways.
Now if you want to talk about a beautiful ballad, check out Carrie Underwood's remake of "Praying For Time":

No offense taken, though im not really trying to make fans or enemie's here, I tend to get PMs from alot of people on these boards who either love me to death or hate my guts... I really dont understand... ;) ;D

Anyway, I really like both the CHRs in my area, One is very current intensive and breaks alot of new music and plays a big variety of Rhythm, Rock, and Pop, and basically plays what their listener's want..

Check out http://www.wnou.com/ They claim they play all the hits, and they really actually do..

Also check out http://www.wbwb.com A small town CHR from a college town that is pretty Dance Friendly with two one hour Dance Mixshows each weekday, and OHP on Weekend nights. I wish this station would stream, but since I live 18 miles from their Tower, I wouldnt need it myself, but I want my friends to hear it abroad.

Also, I really like the unique Z-Rock 107.5 http://www.1075zrock.com/ A very good rock leaning CHR....

Also, check out http://www.kf99kq105.com/k/ Also a very unique Rock leaning CHR...

Also check out the Rock friendly, yet Hit Music Flamethrower Z 102.9 Cedar Rapids http://www.kzia.com/

Also KMMT 106.5 in Mammoth California is a good local CHR thats pretty unique.

Also, listen to One FM 107.1, the new CHR in Denver.

All of the above stations are unique non cookie cutter and cater to their local market, and most importantly, they think outside the box.

That explains why I didnt care for it. I know WNCI is a heritage station that alot of CHR heads worship, but I never liked WNCI, even back in the 80s it was always recurrent leaning and gold friendly, and very late on adds, if it even added them at all. WZPL in Indianapolis and WKRQ Cincinatti were all also very conservative CHRs back in the 80s and 90s. The midwest never really had any ground breaking chr stations except for WDJX Louisville back in the day, and 101.3 kdwb st paul, and some of the old CHRs in Chicago were pretty good, like 99.9 The Bus from the Chicago Burbs, and Z-95. Also, a really long time ago Detroit had a good chr on 96.3 that was very new music intensive, but pretty repetative, they ended up going Rhythmic/Dance, and later to Modern AC.
