"Real People" theme song question

The martial theme song from NBC's "Real People" sounded so Sousa-like. ;D

I had a name for it ("March of the Real People") but I'm sure that wasn't it's title. It had to have been a classical march "claimed" by "RP" as its own just as the "William Tell Overture" was "claimed" by "The Lone Ranger".

What was the "RP" theme title and who wrote it?

I think this might answer your question of that program you ask of. The name of the song that Real People used is called "March To Conquest" in which was co-composed by Jack Cookery. In fact it wasn't the first time this march was used. It was also used on a Saturday Night Live sketch back about 1977 or 78. And of course, Real People wasn't thought of at the Peacock until 1979.
