"Reality Radio" with Cathy Hughes

Since Urban One has purchased the Cox stations in the market, I wonder if Urban One founder, Miss Cathy Hughes, will be running her commentary/ personal opinions on all Urban One stations, or only the urban formatted stations are "privileged" to hear it....

Based on the borderline racist nature of some of the "Reality Radio" commentary, and the demographics of the new stations they're acquiring, I don't think it would be a wise business decision... but we shall see.

I've never heard any of her commentaries. What would you consider to be "borderline racist" content or subject matter?

Referring to Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas as an "uncle Tom" is the only one I can think of off of the top of my head. I rarely listen to Urban One programming but this particular one I remember hearing quite a few times.

Don’t know if this is related or not. But Inhave heard MAGIC 102.1 with this guy sounding very racist to me too.

Quote: You need to stop buying from these white folks and support your local black owned community companies.

It's fairly easy to listen to one of the non-urban assets they already operate (like country WLHK/Indianapolis) to hear if such commentary airs or not.

You mean in the way iHeart requires KTRH to run Clay & Buck?

Oh, you should hear the latest one where she's bashing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. I don't think things like that would work on a station like 93Q. Most people listen to music stations to hear MUSIC. If they want to hear political talk/personal opinions, they listen to talk radio. Most importantly, just because a person fall into a certain "demographic" of a stations target audience, doesn't mean they all have the same opinions and beliefs. Just my two cents...

Evidently Steve Harvey hasn't received this message.
