I wish she would stop singing and making hits. Her music is just eerie. It didn't make me feel good hearing it. I think she should leave CHR and go sing at a church or something.
 
I agree with you. she's annoying her voice sounds like a chipmunk she's horrible and she keeps releasing singles. she's hot she should just go into modeling or something. see still use for rihanna. sorry rihanna i doubt ur on this site but the only song ilike from u is shut up and drive
 
Just ignore icycool. He's got nothing better to do than whine about minor flaws in radio and desperately ask people about small-market (more like middle of nowhere) airchecks. ::)
 
I don't mind Rihanna She's good and all it's just she does so much she should take a little bit of a break. I felt she should have taken longer of a break because Chris Brown's now releasing music. What Chris did to Rihanna was WRONG! I'm glad everyone forgives him now. I just hope those two can at least Rihanna forgives him for what he did somewhat forgives him. I mean he did hurt her physically emotionally etc. I'm glad she's doing well with her music and is continuing. I'm not personally a fan of her music or really her voice I only liked her in Love The Way You Lie and Shut Up & Drive that's it.
 
I think that she is one of the biggest reasons why along with the BEP's and there sound why so many rhythm stations now sound more top 40 than urban. And if it was not for her mass appeal a lot of dance driven music would not be seening the light of day on most stations.
 
she creeps me out. i can't look at her without getting uncomfortable. on the flipside, i really love her music.
 
I can't stand Rihana, and even worse, all the CHRs around me play her every other song. I feel like CHR has gone of a cliff recently. Bruno Mars is Crap, Rihana is Crap, Nicki Minaj is crap, I can't take any off it!!!

Travis: I agree 100% with you. all the music now i hear is crap. I think I'm gonna stick to my Ipod and Alternative Rock radio. I think it's time anyway CHR is getting too young. I mean I do like some of the stuff yes but most if it is crap.
 
IMO, CHR and Rhythmic is where all the disposable, candy-coated, crappy-yet-catchy music should be played. If you want "real music", CHR and Rhythmic are the wrong formats for you.

With that said, the format does need a bit more balance. But you can't expect them to stop playing POPULAR (key word) artists like Rihanna, Kesha, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. No matter how much you (and I) dislike the music, it's what the majority of people want to hear right now.

hearing two grown old men say that Rihanna "creeps" them out, makes THEM creepy and sketchy. Pretty ODD word to put on a beautiful pop icon.

There's a reason they are not allowed to pick hits. Clearly they can't tell a HIT.
Her upcoming single, S&M, is ANOTHER hit! Makes for GREAT Upbeat CHR Radio!

Guys, you're not in the business for yourself, you're in the business for the audience. Rihanna kicks ass in pop. People like it, YOU should learn to like it or get out.
 
While this song is catchy, it has terrible lyrics and soon we will have young kids in elementary/middle school thinking that it is okay to be tied up and be beaten with chains and whips.

Really? There's way more violent images on tv every day and in games. There's no proof even these impact kids' minds. :)

I love your signature. "Future CHR PD"... please, if you ever get a PD gig, let me know where it is so I can come program against you and clean your clock. Rihanna, like her or not, is a core artist. Bruno Mars, like him or not, is a better artist than probably 90% of the artists in the format right now. Nicki Minaj, while I agree with you on the talent aspect, is one of the hottest collaboration artists in the game right now. If you're going to program to YOUR personal tastes, you will lose. Period.
 
I actually agree with Travis about Bruno. I think he's a wannabe Ne-Yo and should just go back being collaborated with B.O.B. and Travie McCoy.
 
I really don't understand why these artists are being discussed in the CHR forum, by people who are obviously into CHR (else you wouldn't post here, right?). If the artist is just a talentless fluke, they'll disappear soon enough. Vanilla Ice did. Meanwhile, play their hitsongs. It's what CHR does best.
