Happy mother’s day to all the moms that read R.I. I was shopping this afternoon and I saw an old friend that is working for Entercom GSO. He mentioned to me that in the winter book WNOW-FM showed all over the demos and day-parts, and they were wondering who they were. Isn’t that strange??? I don’t think so. Since La Preciosa flipped and the Hispanic Community doesn’t have anything else to listen to. Probably somebody will say that Que Pasa with his leased stations…. But it is clear that their programming doesn’t appeal the Hispanics of the Triad. It’s sad to see that this large amount of people don’t have a “local” station and their only resource will be one out of Charlotte. It’s been 4 months since La Preciosa signed off and I don’t see any local station going after the Hispanic money left on the table.

WNOW FM is not a Charlotte station .. this is the station from Gafney, SC that was being LMA'd by Peter Davidson. Not sure who is operating the station now that Peter is out of the game. They moved the tower to some location that has given them a very good signal over Charlotte and GSO. I was told that La Prediosa was doing 200 - 250 a month and CC still made the change. If you saw the ratings for GSO and Raleigh one might feel that Clear Channel may have made the right move for once! It is true that the Hispanic community has no local radio station but look for that to change soon!
