Reb Porter fill-in on WIBC this morning

Anybody know why Reb Porter would be doing fill-in traffic on WIBC this morning? I didn't think WIBC had a deal with Metro -- did Reb leave Metro?

WIBC is not a metro affiliate. It's nice to hear him back on 1070 however.

Think he does fill-in when Big John or one of the FM traffic reporters are on vacation. You're right Perry, it's like old times hearing Reb on WIBC.

Usually when Big John or JoAnn Klooz or Kevin Cole are on vacation either Dennis Bergendorf, John Bartholomew usually fill in for the missing reporter. If Reb was on WIBC this morning who covered his Metro spot on WXLW and Gold 95.9 this morning
Edited by MikeFromIndiana on 12/03/05 04:13 AM.

Reb Porter, from what I understand, was released from Metrosource. He hasn't been on XLW or Gold in awhile.

That would seem weird since he was the longest tenure Employee at Metro being there since Metro started up here in early 1992. Because if i recall the original Metro Lineup back in 1992 was Reb Porter, Jay Carson, Jim Burrows, Susan Smith, Rich McDonald, Brian Stevens, Ken Hayes and Doug Weedman
Edited by MikeFromIndiana on 12/04/05 01:28 AM.

Great memory Mike. But Jim wasn't with us at the start. And I'd forgotten the old Jay Carson air name that Greg Cooper used. We briefly had another midday anchor that also worked weekends at WFMS whose name I've forgotten.

Brian i recall a Jack Murphy and Mike Morrison from the early days as well

What ever happen to Rich McDonald? He had a great line once describing an exit on 465 being backed up like a bad toilet!

If i Recall he did traffic for Emmis for a Couple Months in Early 99 on the TLC's when Emmis owned them

Rich became a friend of WQFE management and staff back around 93 or so when he did traffic for them, and may have even done some part time work at the station. Last I heard he was involved with the people that do the indymall.com website, but that has been at least 10 years ago. I often wonder what became of him... one heck of a nice guy. I also remember him being one of the original 104.5 staff when it changed from WAJC to the Bear.
