Rebel now on 96.3 and 97.7

I thought i was crazy driving home tonight when i heard the same Keith Urban song on both stations at the same exact point but no, it was a simulcast.

Kissin Country's FB and web are gone.

Did Rebel buy the signal from Flinn?

The Rebel is also on 1430. They would have to be, of course -- 95.3 could not use 97.7 as a fill-in translator.

Meanwhile, 105.5 now seems to have a live presence in the morning. And, dang... that 830 signal was sure strong in Germantown at 530 this AM as I was on the way to the gym. Best 2W I have ever heard (wink-wink, nudge-nudge). Interestingly, I could barely make out 1430 in their City of License.

The April sign on time is 5:30 am.
In June they get to wake up at 4:45.
In January it is 7:15 am.

I wonder if 1430 has some copper missing or in need of attention under their towers. I hear them in Midtown when the ground is very saturated and just barely detectable way down in the mud when it's dry.

The Rebel sounds rather good on 97.7 but its was getting clobbered by one of the other 97.7s in 38104 this morning. It was good from Binghampton and points west.

The title on the thread said 96.3, and my first thought was that The Rebel had bought 96.3 in Blytheville, AR, but I take it that's not the case. ::)

Flinn is buying the translator his WWWN 96.5 Holly Springs displaced. It filed an application last week to move to 96.3 Byhalia. I suspect that's the 96.3 you're hearing.

Looked at the app for W243BB seems like the only thing it will offer is interference.

I wouldn't really call that Byhalia either unless I'm not seeing something the correct information.

WEBL also has an application ACCEPTED for a Southaven translator on 100.1. Signal won't be great in the current configuration, but it's out there.

There are a couple of other signals that might be trying to sneak in, judging by recent filings.

I saw those after you alerted me that I had slacked off today :)

someday in the near future you won't be able to DX on FM much as any open frequency will be blocked.

I wonder if the 100.1 is to far to rebroadcast 830 when the power is raised? I could see putting 95.3 on it then changing it to 830 later. I'll try to dig around some later this week.
