Rebirth of WMEX

Just curious to know what people think of WMEX...a friend who's a seasoned radio professional grew up near Boston in the 1960s and was a huge fan of WMEX (top 40). Through a convoluted series of events he recently acquired the call sign, formed a non-profit organization, and got himself an FCC-approved low-power FM license (LPFM) in Rochester, NH. He's also streaming it online. he asked a bunch of us, his professional radio pals, to do "airshifts" (remotely voice tracking). It's all '50s, '60s and '70s oldies. He also has the original jingles and had some new ones cut to sing the names of us current DJs! It's a lot of fun, but I just want to know if anyone think this is a cool idea...and if you've listened at all, what are your impressions?

Thanks!

Have an exceptional day!

You guys are living the dream! What an interesting story, especially the one about the call letters. I see you've attracted some advertising...hopefully enough to cover the streaming costs. Good luck...I'm sure a lot of folks on the beach who are very envious.

They have a live oldies show from 6-9 PM on Saturdays on WMEX 1510 with the original jingles also.

You guys want to hear an amazing station, a bunch of radio folks did something similar in Woodbridge NJ, got a LPFM call sign from the FCC ..... WOLD, purchased a killer TM jingle package and are doing a heck of a job. Not only "living the dream" but putting a quality retro sound on the air. Amazing.

And doing actual commercials!
