Reboots

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gZnJKu2i-Vw

This remake of Bewitched can work out well on Fox.

I've heard that the TV industry has actually run out of good ideas for reboots of actual hit shows, and is now scraping the bottom of the barrel. Reboots now in development:

"The Pink Lady & Jeff" - starring Jeff Goldblum and the Korean girl group Red Velvet.

"Manimal" starring Matthew McConaughey.

"Cop Rock LDS" starring Andrew Rannells and Josh Gad, as Mormon missionaries who go from door to door singing to perspective converts, as they solve murders.

"Joey" - Matt LeBlanc is back, this time he's a failed out of work actor in his 50s, and an alcoholic who manages his Los Angeles apartment building for free rent.

"Kojak & Mackey" - the Telly Savalas version in the 70s was a hit, the 00s version with Ving Rhames was a flop, but the third time may work - this time with Michael Chiklis, who will play dual roles - both as the honest Theo Kojak, and the corrupt Vic Mackey from The Shield. His catch phrase - "Who loves ya baby, and show me the money..."

This is a joke, right?

Matt LeBlanc is starring in the very successful "Man with a Plan". Michael Chiklis was in "Gotham" but I'm not sure what happened to his character.

Yes - I was joking. LeBlanc also recently starred in Episodes, a comedy series co-produced by BBC 2 and Showtime. He plays himself, as essentially a spoiled, conceited TV star. It's hilarious. I haven't seen Chiklis since Vegas, which was a decent fictionalized re-telling of Mafia influence in 1950s Las Vegas, but was cancelled after a season. I didn't know he was in Gotham, but I know he's never out of work for very long.

Not only could Fox redo Married With Children, but also Ally McBeal.

I got a joke reboot for You

Bart Simpson and Homer Simpson joins the cast the Mickey Mouse Club and replaces Donald Duck!

I read recently that Ed O'Neill's (actor who played Al Bundy) star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is in front of a...(wait for it)...DSW Shoe Store. The difference is, of course, shoe stores like DSW dont' use salesmen anymore - it's all self service, so the only employees are cashiers.

any there chain retailers that still use commissioned employees instead of teens at minimum wage? what tourist would stop at a DSW unless the airline lost their bags?

Hollywood Blvd is not just a tourist area. While there are plenty of folks walking to see the embedded stars, and some tourist attractions, most of the people traveling and walking there are "locals" as there are plenty of interesting stores, a lot of condo developments in refashioned old buildings and new ones, too, and a number of movie and live entertainment venues and even a shopping center (in the El Capitan / Chinese Theatre zone). And there are an increasing number of interesting and unique restaurants, starting with the famous Musso & Frank's.

I used to work at the corner of Hollywood and Vine. It was anything but touristy. The floors above us and call centers and about 500 employees in several shifts.

Al is having a successful career on "Modern Family" and Peg is on "Superior Donuts". But Kelly and Bud don't seem to be busy these days.

"Kelly" is still making movies...it's "Bud" who hasn't been the busy one since 1997. Except for cameos and small guest roles, David Faustino has basically been MIA ever since...

"Peg" (Katey Sagal) has not stopped working. I tried counting her credits on imdb since Married with Children, and got bored by about #50. She was a lead in Sons of Anarchy produced by her husband, Kurt Sutter; the voice of Leela on Futurama; starred in 8 Simple Rules...for My Teenage Daughters, which tanked when John Ritter died; she's been in a number of theatrical movies, she sings...

Clarissa explains it all in consideration for a reboot.

The original series ran for five seasons (65 episodes) on Nickelodeon from 1991 to 1994 and starred Hart as Clarissa, a teenager who spoke directly to the audience as she dealt with problems including school, boys and family. Jason Zimbler, Sean O'Neal, Elizabeth Hess and Joe O'Connor co-starred. The series was credited with being Nick's first with a female lead. Its success led to other female-fronted series, including The Secret World of Alex Mack and more.

Kriegman revisited the series in 2015 with a novel, Things I Can't Explain, which served as a sequel to the series and followed Clarissa, now in her late 20s, trying to navigate life as an adult.

In a February interview with THR about her work directing ABC's The Goldbergs, Hart — who went on to star in ABC's Sabrina, The Teenage Witch — said she thought Clarissa would be prime to be rebooted as Netflix is doing its own, dark take on Sabrina.

"I like the way we left Sabrina. I think Sabrina ended on a really great note, and I don't think you want to go back and explore that. At the same time, I think Clarissa ended on a note that could be explored again, because it didn't really have an ending — it sort of ended," she said.

For Nickelodeon, the decision to reboot Clarissa comes as the Viacom cable network recently announced plans to revive Blues Clues, handing out a 20-episode order for the animated preschool hit with a live-action host. The kids-focused cable network has been one of Viacom's most stable brands. While its ratings were flat this past year, competitors including Disney Channel saw a 24 percent drop in total viewers last year.

Reboots remain in high demand as broadcast, cable and streaming outlets look for proven IP in a bid to cut through a cluttered landscape expected to top 520 scripted originals this year. Key to them is having the original producers attached, which Clarissa does with Kriegman.

And the possible new host for "Blue's Clues"? John Cena. Steve Burns is not happy.

actually, he's not really gonna be the new Steve, as it was more a bit for the network event he attended to as Cena's hosting the Kids Choice Awards for the second year in a row, and he's also schedule to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania before his next break from WWE to film more movie roles as well as promote "Bockers" and the upcoming Transformers: Bumblebee spinoff movie he's staring in.
