Reboots

die hard fans of the original, still bitter about it's cancellation, will launch boycotts simply because it's not about the offspring of Kevin Arnold in the 90s

Could it be also because it (may possibly) include an all-Black cast, as opposed as to the original, which was all-White?

Peacock has ordered the reboot of “Queer as Folk” to series, which had been in development since 2018.

The Peacock version is described as a vibrant reimagining of the groundbreaking British series created by Russell T. Davies, exploring a diverse group of friends in New Orleans whose lives are transformed in the aftermath of a tragedy.

Davis will executive produce, and Stephen Dunn will create and write the series. Dunn will also direct the pilot episode. The series is from UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group. Additional executive producers include Lee Eisenberg, Emily Brecht, Nicola Shindler and Richard Halliwell on behalf of NENT Studios UK, which distributes the format.

Flintstones and Fantasy Island are named to get a reboot at Fox Entertainment.

"Fantasy Island" has already done this.

Here is the Friends reunion. The show will be released on May 27th on HBO Max.

How well do you remember “Friends”? How well do the actual cast members of the modern classic sitcom remember their own show? If the trailer HBO Max dropped Wednesday for its forthcoming reunion special for the series is any indication, it looks like barely a day has passed in their memories since they were shooting on the Warner Bros. lot.

Additionally, HBO Max announced some special activations for “Friends: The Reunion,” streaming on May 27.

Returning to Stage 24 where they originally shot the 1990s sitcom about six friends living in New York City, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer walk through the rebuilt apartment set and even sit down for a game of trivia, in the vein of game depicted in the fourth season episode “The One with the Embryos.”

I saw an ad on another site for a "Gossip Girl" reboot. Actually, I could probably left click or something if I go back there because it'll surely show up again.

It did, but I couldn't make it work.

“Perfect Strangers” getting the female treatment…

I remember the Original edition of Perfect Strangers when Miller-Boyett and WB did the show for ABC! I would love to see how the reboot edition will play out though.

I like how some reboots would use a completely different cast from the original edition of the show. Parts of this is that the reboot has to attract a median demo that was not even born when the original edition ended and the storylines has to relate to the era the show is in.

I understand with Perfect Strangers and their announcement of a completely new cast it's going to be interesting how this new edition is going to play out given that the show would have to attract an audience that was not even born when the Bronson Pinchot and Mark Lynn-Baker edition ended.

I remember reading that even the Balki and Larry version of Perfect Strangers the fans and crew in the 1980's and 1990's claimed that the show got their ideas from the Odd Couple and The Laverne & Shirley show.

Art and entertainment has borrowed ideas and been inspired by what came before since day one. Lots of TV shows have echoes of others.

If an original cast is playing the same roles, the show is really a sequel, a la Fuller House as an example. Not a reboot.
