Barney the Dinosaur to get a reboot for Mattel Television in 2024.

Mattel announced on Monday that it is relaunching the franchise centered on a purple T-Rex, and among the new offerings will be an animated reimagining of the iconic (and polarizing) live-action Barney & Friends. Barney Reboot The OG series, which bowed on PBS in 1992 and ran for nearly two decades, featured a human actor in a dinosaur costume.

“In creating the new series, it was important to us that we properly reflect the world that kids today live in so that the series can deliver meaningful lessons about navigating it,” said Fred Soulie, SVP and General Manager of Mattel Television, in a statement. “With our modern take on Barney, we hope to inspire the next generation to listen, care, and dream big. We think that parents, many of whom will fondly remember the original Barney from their own childhoods, will love the show, too.”

Many of these things never see the light of day. They’re bandied about as ideas that, justifiably, companies should be contemplating. You own the rights, it doesn’t hurt to explore the possibilities.
 
I called Baywatch Babewatch WXMI FOX17 aired it for most of its run when the Hoff was on the last 2 seasons were on WWMT when it was Baywatch Hawaii without Hoff. Seems that the repeats of Baywatch the 9 Years with The Hoff and they just forget that the last 2 years exist.

Baywatch in Des Moines aired on Woi for most of its run then switched to KCCI in it's later years around the time it was around season 7 or 8. Reruns aired on KDSM Fox 17 and later WOI while the spin off Baywatch Nights aired on KDSM Fox 17.
