Reboots

Here comes the bus…
Dang Previously Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was rebooted on HGTV in 2020.

This show is really a spinoff of "Extreme Makeover" from the early 2000's when it was about plastic surgery. However the Home Edition of Extreme Makeover became more successful than the original show it was intending to cover.

Interestingly Mickey Mouse did a parody of Extreme Makeover Home edition in a skit after the shows first stint on ABC ended.
I remember when it was about plastic surgery I think it lasted a a couple years and fox copied it and created The Swan which was like a rip off of Extreme Makeover.

My mom use to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition with Ty Pennington. The reboot didn't last long on HGTV and was gone in a blink of an eye. Think the one from Modern Family hosted that edition of the show.

Meh…looks like it’s just using the character in ad form (or ad content…whatever buzzword they want to use). Certainly not a totally new concept even if it’s being used for several products vs one brand.

Frasier gets a premiere date for both Paramount+ and CBS.

The “Frasier” revival at Paramount+ has set its premiere date.

The return of the beloved sitcom will debut with its first two episodes on Paramount+ on Oct. 12 in the U.S. and Canada and on Oct. 13 in all other territories. In addition, the first two episodes will air back to back on CBS on Oct. 17 beginning at 9:15 pm ET/PT. The new season consists of 10 episodes.

Paramount+ has also released first look photos from the series and a teaser featuring a new recording of series star Kelsey Grammer performing the show’s theme song, “Tossed Salads & Scrambled Eggs.” The photos and the teaser can be seen below.

These articles are pitiful even for slobbering trade press. Of course people “tease” things with vague nonsense like “never rule it out.” That sounds much better than “We’re long-past-our-prime people working the convention circuit, and there is precisely zero chance (insert show here) is coming back.”
