RECAPPING RULES FOR THOSE OF US CONFUSED

I have very thin skin and am tired of breaking down in lengthy crying sessions every time I get called out around here...so asking ya'al to help me understand stuff:

1. Apparentlly we're not allowed to respond to a question or issue raised on a thread if it doesn't match the Subject line. Hijacking, sidebars, irrelevant comments likely results in tasers to groin.

2. Answering ANY topic with outside-the-box ideas, fantasies, sarcasm, or any other response that doesn't match a small circle of insiders likely results in tasers to groin.

3. No mentioning of "yesterday radio" because we don't remember it accurately. The fact that many of us had a helluva lot more fun in those days is clearly parallel to a "Bobby dreamt this whole season" occurrence on Dallas.

4. Similarly, if we recall that people who were in radio prior to 2000 may have had talent is, in fact, not at all true. The fact that they did bits, concepts, promotions we still talk about today is likely planted memories from our winkee-fondling stepdads or therapists. Instead, we should be listening intently to the talent of today who is hoping with all their heart that THEIR inflection of a liner card will be just enough different than the talent who follows ... just enough to land a spot in the Broadcaster Hall of Fame.

5. ABOVE ALL, don't comment on a station that's putting out great content if it's not a "real" station. LPFM, NonComm innovations do not count (especially those that are recently defunded). Similarly, if we listen to those stations in the car all the time it doesn't mean it's enjoyable programming because it's still not REAL.

6. A trend shift is a national audience phenomenon. Something like a format that completely sucked 3 years ago and declared dead by trade magazines and consultants ... and now experiencing a national resurgence evidenced by format flips all over the dang place IN NO WAY indicates radio people were wrong. It's an audience shift attributed to aliens.

7. Any form of talk adio does NOT "blow" no matter how mindless it is because it has a following. Intellect, accuracy of claims, degree of "showboating" has no merit on the accuracy of information that is presented ... which we must believe becuse it comes from a transmitter and using a radio spectrum ...

...8. that the public does not own.

Did I miss anything?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

yes you have missed it all... there is NO crying radio. Suck it up buttercup. If you are really in this or trying to be in this business you have to have more confidence in your talent.

Now... back to to the irish coffe... bee....oh hell... give me a drink

Ignore them LBB. When you think about it, if they're THAT anal about it, then it's not you or me or the rest of us who has the thin skin.......
