Receiver reliability problems.

Hi Tom,
Yes noticeable insertion loss - actually worse FM insertion loss than AM loss, so you lost all of your 'marginal' borderline FM stations that you once could hear on your built-in analog radio, you can't after the HD tuner install; so you are 'forced' to use the HD tuner FM modulator for all tuning, AM & FM if you want to retain the same sensitivity level as you once had, but - I would have to shut the HD off for my Canadian AM Stereo station to be received on my car radio, as the Directed did not have C-Quam decoding like some of the other HD brands do (by accident or by design).
Another note, if I left my XM radio (cigarette) power adapter plugged-in (even with the radio off) it would cause the HD radio not to lock on any AM-HD stations - including the locals, so it was very sensitive to switching power supplies and LED traffic signals! (now it's sensitive to nothing) :mad:
