Recent AM Daytime Logs

On 680 WRKO Boston wiped out WPTF Raleigh 2PM. 690 usually is noise or WOKV Jacksonville. Hearing WADS 690 Ansonia CT Spanish. 640 Radio Disney from NJ. 1280 WHVR Hanover,PA.
All on car radio early afternoon. WHLI 1100 Hampstead NY and WICC600 Bridgeport CT.
 
It could be simply the conditions but the 680 in San Antonio was completely wiping out much closer WPTF last wk about 1 hr S of Tampa.

That's OK. I was reading the couple of other recent threads about AM receptions and had wondered if the recent weather patterns is affecting day and night AM reception.

That 680 in SA is KKYX - they are a 50kW monster, and boom into Houston almost like a local. I have no doubt whatsover they could cross the Gulf in the daytime under the right conditions. Their nighttime power is directional at 10kW and aimed towards the Gulf.
