Reception Notes from Plainville, Connecticut 10/2/2018

Reception Notes from Plainville, Connecticut.

Date: 10/2/18.
Time: Around 1:00PM.
Location: Kohl's Parking Lot 200 New Britain Avenue
Radio: Stock Radio 2010 Honda Civic LX

92.9 from Long Island Fuzzy, but listenable. This station simulcasts with a station on 96.9 FM. Stations are WEHM and WEHN. (I don't recall which station has which call letters).

93.1 WHYN-FM Springfield was non-existent while the other two Springfield Market stations I normally get - 94.7 WMAS and WAQY 102.1 were crystal clear.

Fuzzy, but listenable was the 95.3 Translator for WSDK 1550 from Bloomfield. I think this was the first time I've picked up this station. I think the show was local because I heard the person on the air mention Bloomfield.

Fuzzy, but listenable Jammin' 107.7 WWRX Bradford, Rhode Island.

Fuzzy, but listenable Soft Rock 106.5 WBMW Pawcatuck.

I was considering taking a video with my phone, but my mother came out of Kohl's before I could give the dial a second spin.

One other note. After we went to Kohl's we went to the Big Y across the street. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot of the shopping center the 96.1 translator for WNTY started fading in and out.

Jam'n 107.7 is now licensed to Bradford, RI? Huh? Wiki says it's a village partially in Westerly AND Hopkinton, RI. I still had their C.O.L. as the Pawcatuck section of Stonington. Strange!

As for Big Y on 275 New Britain Avenue (Plainville), I've had a Panasonic "Walkman" get slight interference in their lot from WRCH-FM 100.5 while tuned to WDRC-FM 102.9 no less. Yes, I'm aware that 100.5 FM transmits from the WTIC-TV tower on Rattlesnake Mountain. The two TV towers loom over their whole lot.

That surprises me. I used to pick that station up well in Hamden before WJMJ put a 93.1 translator there.

Yup. Licensed to Bradford, and doing more south county/Misquamicut advertising and on-location broadcasts. You can receive it nicely in Newport and Warwick too.
