Reception of MSP FM Stations

I had the recent pleasure of spending some time in Minnesota. You have a beautiful state.

I was very impressed with the the strength of some of the Minneapolis-St. Paul signals. Cool 108, for example, was reachable well over 100 miles west, well past St. Cloud. Was this tropo, or is it normal? In addition, I picked up KDWB in Two Harbors. I'd bet that this, however, was tropo.

Except for 107.1 @ 50kW, all the Shoreview FMs are 100kW. And except for 107.1 & 100.3, all are over 1,000 feet. They've always gotten out well. The main limiting factor in coverage are the new co-channel and especially first-adjacent stations that have sprung up over the past 2 decades. Before then, the Shoreview FMs could be heard in Eau Claire, Albert Lea, and almost to Duluth. Even today, they can be received on a car radio in Mankato/St. Cloud/Rochester.
