G 102.9-WMGK (Classic Rock) Philadelphia (i dont know where you got ac from)

Let's see...because every time I turn them on they're playing "Margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffett or "Movin' Out" by Billy Joel? :)

LOL Exactly. WMGK and their "classic rock." Their "classic rock" is more generic than those generic labels at discount supermarkets with big lettering on a white background. LOL I can certainly see how someone not familiar with the market could mistake them as AC.

They used to be AC as "Magic 102.9", hence the WMGK call letters. It would have sounded like Magic 98.3.

105.7 The Hawk!

hell, if your in the Northeast of Lower bucks, tune that in. it comes in great in the car, and is very easy to pick up indoors.

That's where its at.

it dont cover the whole entire philly market, but it covers a good chunck of bucks, and almost all of philly itself.

so as crappy as WJJZ's music mix is since picking up the same playlist as the old WJJZ before the flip, i guess you can't blame them TOTALLY for their lackluster ratings. even with this new stick, 97.5's signal in philly ain't that great. i noticed the same thing last year when visiting a relative in a center city hotel shortly after the stick was moved over to PA. the clock radio in the hotel room didn't get a single trace of it. granted, hotel clock radios are no amazing instruments, but other philly frequencies came in loud and proud. WJJZ was nowhere to be found.

my clock radio in pottsville is funny too, i dont get wavt at all (not that i want to get that crap anyway) but i get WRFF and 1029.

You still wish it was on 97.5, don't you?

It DID sound like Magic 98.3! Or, perhaps, it would be better said that New Brunswick sounded like 103. No surprise, as they were/are GM corporate cousins.

Magic 103 was an excellent AC station, new and novel back in the day. Of course, they had decent AC music to play, too, unlike today's AC drivel.
