Reception

Anyone notice a decline in the Ticket's signal on the AM band or any other AM bands for that matter? I can't even pick up 1310 in my car any more driving around in the metroplex. I was wondering if this is my car or the actual signal...If it's my car how would I fix that?

I doubt it's your car. It must be that In Band On Channel thing that they insist on running during the daytime.

And so, another victim of interesting radio falls prey of "innovative" radio.

Careful - any suggestion that the "wonderful" IBOC limits coverage gets met with extreme resistance by Ibiquity corporate zombies and their network of zombie station chief engineers.

I am of the opinion that this is a problem with the radio, especially considering reception loss of many AM stations is being observed. You might want to post this over in the Engineering board, where you're bound to get good suggestions.

Thank God I'm not alone on this! I've been having a terrible time getting 1310 in the car - but NO problem watsoever with KLIF or BAP, etc.

I have also noticed the problem with the ticket. and I live with in 5 miles of the transmitter infact near the Carrollton/Coppell line, if I climb up on the roof of my house and look to the west I can see the lights of the tower at night. I am using a sony walkman as the receiver. All the other stations come in fine. I bet it is IBOC?

Hey Doubley
You are correct. Not only is it harder to get 1310, the audio is horrible. Bad enough that I have to listen to Brad and the bag of nothin Babe and barely be able to get the flagship station of the Dallas Cowboys, but the quality of the audio is horrible as well.

Some will attribute it to my radio but this all day P1 will tell you it's the signal, not the radio (receiver).

Doubley stated "...other AM bands (stations)" as well, which is why I think it is a radio issue, unless the Ticket is the only station he is having trouble picking up. If he had said the Ticket was the only station, I too would call it a problem outside the car radio.
