Recommended streaming service for LPFM’s

I am volunteering at a local LPFM station, which currently doesn’t stream. Would someone please recommend one that is reasonably-priced, yet feature-rich? The plan is for me to VT shows remotely, as the station is about 40 minutes’ distance from our hacienda. The station manager is testing out a service, but we would both prefer other options. I have had previous with Securenet Systems.

THANK YOU in advance!

One that most LPFMs I know of seem to be moving to is Radio.Co.

ANother cheaper option I have used in the past is Internet-Radio.com. The latter has pay as you go options. Internet Radio Server Prices

I've heard SecureNet can get expensive. Most of their stations I've heard don't have good quality streams either, many are just 32 KBPS. In this day and age if you can't get 128 K MP3 or higher (at very least 64 K AAC) don't use the service.

You're wanting to do a radio show from home on a LPFM. Do you need to control the station as well with remote desktop software? Does it matter if the audio you hear has a delay? Are you wanting to upload VT
through a cloud drive or do you want to announce live? Will there be someone at the station? Anyway, lots of free software out there.

LIVE 365 is wonderful for streaming a station for the public but it has a one minute audio delay.

All streams have a delay.. usually in the 15 to 30 second range. .sometimes a bit longer.. dependent on alot of different factors

A private stream for you and staff is free. Use BUTT and shoutcast or with icecast. To stream to the world use BUTT and Live365. Live 365 is less than $60 per month. They cover the music fees and do your reporting to Sound Exchange. You must supply meta data for them to be able to do this reporting. And, listeners will see what your playing on their smart phone or computer. They can then buy the song.

Many famous musicians have streamed live music on the internet lately. You have to get their permission. Then you can put them on the air. They use Facebook or Zoom.

You can use Splashtop or Any Desk to control the on air computer remotely and transfer voice tracks. Just add the voice tracks to the playlist remotely.

Anyway you might play with this software and have fun.

Technically you can share the address of the Shoutcast/Icecast server with the world. But if you don't have licensing in order, if the record label finds out that's probably on you.

From a listener's perspective, I prefer listening with the TuneIn app.
If you are streaming, adding this feature will get you more listeners, in my opinion.

You're welcome. Glad to see you are doing radio again!
3/5 of the radio stations I am on are easily accessed with the TuneIn app, & 1 other is just using OnlineRadioBox, which stops playing when my phone's screen turns off, so it's not as mobile friendly as TuneIn.

Have you tried the SimpleRadio app? That one has most of the ones TuneIn does, maybe more. TuneIn is extremely hard to get stations listed on. They recently announced at TuneIn, an expensive radio listing service. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/...platform-for-new-submissions-but-with-a-cost/
I'm not paying that much to be listed, if my station ain't already on TuneIn.
Thanks, AnyHuman! I will definitely pass that along! BTW, when I retired from WRSG, we were (and still are) on both mytuner Radio and TuneIn.

I recommend Broadcast Tool & Die, president is David Klann. They are providing our stream at a great price.

A really cheap option is to set up a VPS with something like Linode or Digital Ocean. But this requires a fair amount of Linux/technical knowledge. However Linode's cheapest plan is $5 a month, a lot less expensive than the big radio streaming sites.
The drawback, it's on you to cover licensing fees with that option. I've read those can get insanely expensive.
