Can anyone tell me if there is a cost-effective way to record line-level audio into a Pocket PC(Ipaq 3850 if that helps)and save it as mp3/wma to the mmc card slot? Any ideas or info would be gratefully appreciated. Contact offlist if you want at
greatscottmrg AT hotmail.
Thanks!

Prophet Systems has a package called PocketGen (http://www.prophetsys.com/content/Other/RG-APR-2004.pdf) designed to capture the audio to your iPaq, edit it, and transfer it back through WiFi. I use an iRiver http://www.iriveramerica.com/prod/ultra/800/ifp_899.aspx to record with a mic (or using the built-in mic)and tranfer through USB to my laptop. It uses direct encoding and produces exceptional sound at a great price (less than $200).
