Recording to MP3/WAV/WMA using a player

I just bought an MP3 player today. It can record directly to crappy quality 65KBPS wav from the radio. The tuner itself is pretty good, but the quality of the recording isn't.

For future buying, anybody know of any MP3 Players that can record with better quality, preferably directly to MP3? Something like this would come in bigtime handy for when I'm not home or on an aircheck trip or a trip where I'm unable to bring along the boomboxes.
______________

I've plugged this before but I've been more than happy with my ARCHOS JukeBox 20. They don't make the model I have anymore, but ARCHOS has a long list of products that will record mp3 in real time and much more now. Check e-bay by going to the consumer electronics area and also type in ARCHOS in the search to see pictures of various models, (I found the actual ARCHOS site to kind of suck.)

(If you downloaded any of the airchecks I posted a few days ago from Vancouver BC Canada then you heard what my mp3 recorder sounds like.)

I just looked on e-bay a little while ago and there is a JukeBox 10 (which is a 10gb hardrive vs my 20 which is 20gb)for about 129.00 - I thought that was a little expensive since I paid 200.00 for mine new.

Jeremy, e-mail me if you want more info, like any product there is good and bad aspects.

Cheap one at Wal-Mart. I really only needed it for the player part (So I can listen to my MP3 airchecks without burning them to MP3 CD or sitting at the computer.) I spent 70 bucks on it as I had no intentions to spend more then 80. For now I'm sticking with tapes for pretty much all of my airchecking but I'm running out of space and need to start thinking of other ways of storage.
______________

This thing looks REALLY cool. It's called Radio Your Way. Records AM & FM to mp3
at whichever bitrate you choose! Obviously the higher the bit rate, the more space it takes up...but, wow. This is an airchecker's dream come true.

I have no idea how it sounds, how the reception is or if there are any bugs...
but it sure looks cool!!!
