Has anyone made any off-the-air recordings of the analog shutdowns on June 12 in D/FW? I captured WFAA/8's shutdown off antenna at noon on 6/12, but that's the only one I got. Apparently KXAS/5 simply went to bars and then to nightlight programming, and KTVT/11 hit the big red button in the middle of "The Young & The Restless" (bet that melted down the switchboard). I saw some YouTube video of KTXA/21 doing a nice little old-fashioned sign-off with the SSB, but it was shot with a camcorder off the screen.
What I'd like to know is if anybody captured the final analog moments of KDFW/4, KXAS/5, and KTXA/21? I'm not real interested in most of the others, because judging from what I've seen from across the country, the death of analog varied from a simple on/off to a very involved historical piece that ended with the playing of the National Anthem. (The best one I've seen was from WGHP in High Point, NC.) I'd like to see those other local shutdowns if anyone has them.
Also, does anyone know if KXAS/5 has ended its nightlight service? I know KDFW/4 is still showing the NAB loop (although they must be at very low power - I can't get them on my rabbit ears at home), but I haven't seen 5 in a while. And if you think about it, record whatever KDFW/4 decides to do when they end nightlight service. WNBC/4 in NYC was classy, but limited (look them up on YouTube) - just color bars, then an old '70s test pattern and a series of NBC logos, then "Goodbye" over black, and - snow. A nice way to end 60-plus years of analog on Channel 4 in NYC, but probably nobody saw it.
