Recuerdo 107.9 is now Radio H20

From Radioinsight.com: Univision Regional Mexican "Recuerdo 107.9" KESS Dallas has flipped to Bilingual CHR "Radio H2O"

Bilingual CHR

107.9 flips to bilingual top 40 as "Radio H2O". Thoughts?

My thoughts are that most of these stations should have had a bilingual approach years ago. It took the PPM to accurately show what many of us in the Latino community already know. Most Latinos are bilingual, bicultural and listen to both English and Spanish language music.

Libermann should've never dumped CASA 106.7

1000% agree!

The Dallas Morning News web site is doing a reader poll to find "The Best Music Station" in the area. It has a multiple choice list that does not include any Spanish language stations or Classical 101. They apparently have a very tight definition of what constitutes music.

it sounds like regular top 40, I have not heard one Spanish song, it looks like CBS radio missed their chance to flip 107.5 or 105.3 to Amp radio

I wonder who they're trying to go after early teens and 20's spectrum, and draw listeners from? I'm puzzled.

It's texturally different than anything in the market. Recurrent and 25-34 focused... interesting take.

Does the fact that 107.9 is a Class C1 at 100,000 watts with a transmitter northwest of Aubrey mean anything for outlying areas (Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Rockwall) etc? Just trying to understand this one.

Paging David Eduardo...Paging David Eduardo...your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

It would be inappropriate to comment on this.

Univision has no idea what they are doing! It's a mess in dallas and it's a mess in Houston! Recuerdo in dallas never got a chance to do what it does in Houston.

Personally, I welcome the change. So far, I like it much better than I93 and Kiss 106.1. The playlist is a little tight but that's to be expected with a new format.

BTW, Recuerdo had a year on two frequencies. I believe that's ample time for format. A perfect is example of this is 94.5 Old School. Within the first two month it had more than double it's prior format.
