red adds new music

as in NEW music. they are classic hits no more i heard at least 3 new songs this afternoon. red hot chili peppers was among them but i cant remember the others. anyway i hope this continues and they drop all the frank sinatra and all the 80s hits. i will keep listning and see what happens. alos i didnt hear rusty this afternoon. did they fire reds little brother?

no the playlist is changing with the 80s pop being reined in a little but nope the classic hits with some new rock is still going.. checked today and had a wide range... better than when they started but now it's to see if it the station people will want to hear

yea but you cant be classic hits and play music from 2006. at least its not an eagle clone now. lets hope it returns to a more mainstream rock format ala 2003.

It seems to be heading there. I've been looking over the playlist on yes.com over the past few weeks since O&A first hit and I see more and more new music. Some of it surprisingly hard or obscure. I frequently listen online (since I now live in TX) :'( Having the old "Rock 93.7" would be great and it may just be heading in that direction. Rock's 12+ numbers were much better than the old Red's. I know 12+ numbers don't tell the whole story but a good rock station could own BR & Lafayette's male listeners.

What I really wish Citadel would do is flip a NON-OVERLAPPING station in NOLA to rock also (Rockin Country & Martini do not have much overlap). Either would nicely compliment Red's coverage area giving rock from Jennings to Biloxi.

they played world wide suicide and it wasnt listed on yes.com..apparently yes doesnt pick up everything.

Red to me is a classic hits/vareity hits hybred .. meaning they act mostly like a classic hits station but adds newer music than what a normal classic hits station does (90s-00s)

It does sound better than when they first flipped. I've heard classic hit stations that have played the level of rock (it's not a real hard rock) before... Yes I moan the loss of Red.. and wish citadel would have gotten some brains before killing any kind of new rock for rockin country in NOLA (which is getting better in the country music selection these days BTW) but that is life and I currently don't have the 12 million to be a player by buying a cluster.

Also yes.net I find does make mistakes and sometimes will be delayed in posting what is played (I know from the start of a song, it will usually take about 1 1/2 minutes for it to post) so it's a real good guide but that's about it.

Hi. I'm Red. I play whatever.

That's all you need to know. Any more than that might hurt your pretty little brains.

uh hey red..i actually listen to your station. so i dont get that...

Hi I'm Red.

Don't think. Just listen.

Oh, and I play Whatever.

And thanks for listening. My hands hurt from changing cds. It's good to know someone's out there.
:)

Rumor has it that Bender is at Red in some capacity. Could Undrcvr be Bender?

Hi, I'm Red.

Not Bender.

But I still play whatever.

Thanks for listening!

Two can play this Red game.

Playing "whatever" takes no effort, which is why I love being Red! It doesn't matter what comes next because, hey hey, I'm Red! I can play "whatever" and it doesn't matter! See how I have a cool, hip flippant attitude! I play "whatever!"

Forget about a station that actually loves the music it plays, and has local jocks who care about the community, it's people and especially the music! No way, man...it's "WHATEVER" for me!

The future of corporate radio is "whatever" because that's the product they spit out. It has no thought, rhyme or reason. Pretty soon when Red asks people to listen, the public will respond with "yeah...whatever."

Um, I'm Red.
I still play Whatever.
But I think about what I play.

Oh, and those people at the supposed "non-corporate" satellite stations,
well, they came from the same terrestial corporate radio stations you are sick of listening to.

Same thinking, different office.

But I'm Red.

I still play Whatever.

it aint the people i am sick of..its the same 100 songs over and over again. and the same artists everyday. hell you play the same whatever songs everyday just like wfmf plays the same top 20 songs everyday. keep up your games. i WAS one of your listners. but you , like every other station in br doesnt care and decided to start talking trash. so off the radio you go. now go wherever and play whatever. and enjoy that bottom of the ratings rating you have. you just lost one of your only listners.

Hi.

I'm Red.

Come Back! It's cold and lonely without you!

Oh, and I play whatever.

we knew red was bender. and i had a feeling because the music was getting more modern. i suspect the classic hits will be gone soon. wonder if real rock will come back? i know he hates the slow sappy soft ac that was red in the beginning. that slide to the bottom of the ratings has got to have something to do with these changes we are hearing.
