Red Apple Audio Networks to launch in 2022

https://news.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/headline_id=n41456

WABC-AM's personalities will be on the Red Apple Audio Networks in 2022 according to the article.
Larry Kudlow's show should be picked up by a lot of stations. Before he left to work for President Trump he was syndicated on many stations and his current show has a large streaming live and podcast audience.

Why would anyone want an AM with a bad signal?

...yet iHM scooped up a few such stations for its abysmal "Black Information Network" programming! LOL

Say what you want about John Cats, but WABC's weekly audience share has virtually doubled compared to the final couple years WABC was in the hands of Cumulus. He clearly is doing something right - no pun intended. :)

By comparison, iHeart owns the technology and equipment along with the existing vertical integration method that they can do interstation relays without that much trouble.**
For the past few days iHeart's WOR stream has been running a Honda commercial complete with a 15-second slate, and a promo for an event that will take place on Saturday, November 13th.

Keep in mind the commercials on the stream are inserted outside of the station by the streaming platform.

Good point. I keep forgetting that people actually listen to AM OTA anymore. I wonder if Red Apple would be wiser to promote the hell out of it's stream rather than trying to pick up affiliates. It's ironic to me that people are so into podcasts when there's lots of good live content out there.

They make more money with broadcast. The streaming spots sell for less money, and the station splits the money with the streaming platform.

Do you happen to know the percentage of the split? I can't believe iHeart made too bad a deal.

iHeart owns their own platform, so they pay themselves. But you asked about Red Apple, and that's a different situation.

If you heard WOR on TuneIn, iHeart has a sales agreement with them.

Nope, iHeart app, not TuneIn. My original reply was just to point out that iHeart's massive resources doesn't necessarily mean they always do it right. Someone's paying for those botched ads. Just sayin'.
