Red Solo Cup - Toby Keith

Some people love this song and some don't care for it. I don't hear it to much on the country station but the song is played every now and then. As for this song it's alrright, it's the type of song you can get stuck in your head. What is everyone's take on this song?

as i mentioned in another post, regarding this song: a cool song for an occasional album cut play on friday/saturday night. not worthy of a single. then again, it appears to be getting a lot of attention from the masses in major markets. but, yipes talk about burn out after three listens. spare me...............

by the way, lets get political here. i drink my beer out of a bottle, or a paper dixie cup, like i have for years. no thanks on them red plastic solo cups toby!

Absolutely hate the song. I made the mistake of airing a show featuring this dreck, and I immediately dropped the show, because it was featured the following week as well.

I finally heard it and it is as bad as everyone says.

It's a good novelty song for a morning show or something, but beyond that ... ::)

Musically it's pretty good. It just needs lyrics that have meaning.

wowsers, the planets have aligned! this motley crew of posters is all in agreement about red solo cup. speakin' of that, the other day i seen a big red solo cup illegal dumping on a county backroad. musta been 3 or 4 dozen crushed all over the road. my keen "columbo" detective brain detects a kegger done been tapped somewheres within the general vicinity, and then someone got rid of the red solo cup evidence reeking of suds. even toby keith would be ashamed at the sight of this mess.

It's a novelty song, for cryin' out loud! Some of you are taking it much too seriously! It ain't no "He Stopped Loving Her Today." ::) And it never will be. Just take it for what it is...a novelty song!

But it shows how far the Warren Brothers (among the co-writers of the song) have fallen, that they felt a need to appear in the video for the song! ::)

It is what it is for better or worse but it certainly dosen't need it's own thread to talk about, ie: a waste of space.
Oh, sure it does.

There's one in my yard I keep forgetting to pick up. It has someone's name on it. There are others in other yards.

We have a college just down the street.

I just think it's a shame Dora Hall is no longer with us--she would be the perfect artist to record this song! Google her if you don't know who she was.

I think it's one of those songs that's so bad it's funny, but man, it gets stuck in my head if I even see a red Solo cup.

Dora Hall would have been a natural for this one. After all she was the Solo Cup Girl. And if she had recorded this one, you could have gotten a copy of the CD with your purchase of Red Solo Cups.
