Red Sox - 1080 WTIC

There are a number of mistakes in that list. For one thing, the new Red Sox flagship in Boston - 680 WRKO isn't listed (nor is WEEI, for that matter). Half the stations in Maine have no city listed by them. The affiliate in Manchester, NH is 610 WGIR (not listed); 930 WGIN is in Rochester, NH - 40 miles away.

So, I wouldn't take too much from the omission of WTIC in this particular list.

I'm hearing Sox are off WGIR Manchester (moving to WKBR 1250) though the sister station in Rochester WGIN is listed...

Even if WGIR isn't carrying the SOX, WGIN could very well be carrying them. Here in Connecticut WWCO/1240 is a 24/7 simulcast of WDRC/1360 and they carry the New York Yankees, while WDRC does not.

But, WGIN Rochester, WGIR Manchester and WGIP Exeter form a simulcasted network - so WGIN would have to break from the network to carry the games. I thought that Clear Channel's previous contracts with the Red Sox provided for coverage over pretty much all of southeastern NH (except Nashua).

Then again, Absolute does have the 'Sox on in Nashua - and they simulcast with WKBR. Anyhow, WKBR has a lousy signal and is barely audible at night, so if it happened it's a bad move - IMO. The average listener in a place like Derry would probably get the games better on WRKO and WCRN than on WKBR.

Yes and I thought it weird that I heard WGIR would not be doing games but WGIN would. But who knows.
And yes, WKBR's signal is not as good as WGIR's so, bad move.
Keep in mind Jason Wolfe of WEEI has said he's considered expanding the WEEI brand up to NH and Maine
(who knows maybe VT too); if Entercom could buy a station in those areas, you could have what WEEI
is now doing with its sister stations in Westerly, RI and Easthampton & Worc. MA....WEEI sports talk
and maybe Sox/Celts along with it.

Don't count on the WEEI Network expanding to more stations. They're gonna need all the money they can get to pay the family of the woman in California. And even if they still have the money to expand the network, people are gonna petition the FCC to deny the sales as they are for the stations they're buying from CBS in 5 markets.

Sorry to be so blunt, but that's just a stupid observation. If EEI moves to other stations aside from Providence, Worcester & Springfield... it's because the brand is so well known and so relevant to New England that it's instantly profitably. The incident in CA and the CBS buy/swap will have no bearing on the branching out of the network.
