red

is red dead. its been reported that red is dead as of feb 1st 2007? i just checked their website. everything seems to have vanished from it. bendor is gone and so is o and a...??? hmmm ;D

Rumor has it that Red will flip back to the Rock 93-7 moniker on Feb. 1st . Same Rock 93-7 logo, same Rock 93-7 music. From what I understand the new "Rock 93-7" will be focused on Lafayette, not Baton Rouge. The transmitter will be tweaked accordingly. At least this is the information on the media kit they're passing around.

dont they have to have fcc approval to tweak that transmitter?

Actually I want to see that transmitter tweaked....

Hum.. operating legal limit (100kw pep) thru a pretty much omni directional antenna...

Other than going off the air and paying big bucks to twist an antenna from one side of a tower to another, or change the antenna up there to a directional (which would require FCC approval), I know of no other "real" way to "tweak" the transmitter...

Basically this is a Sales department gimmick to give people an idea they are focusing on Lafayette now instead of BR... that they are physically doing something about it...

Nope.. KXOR 106.3 Thibodaux plays new music (songs that are usually at the top of the charts or falling from the charts actually) that the new KRDJ doesn't...

Closer to the original WKBU bayou 105.3....

You can tell playlist is Generation X classic rock song heavy with older favorites mixed in.

Newest song so far has been 3 doors down "when I'm gone" from 2002.

But I figured the station would do a "KXOR" and add new material to the classic rock playlist to keep it a little fresh.

i actually didnt know kxor was playing actual new music. on right now on 93.7 is ac/dc who made who. i have only heard that on kzmz and 106.3..never on 98.1..

Yeah since Sunburst took over at the start of 2006, basically all stations except ESPN 1490 (KJIN) got some sort of make over.. But KXOR is called Rock 106.3 and is playing newer stuff by Breaking Benjamin,Hinder, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers but is pretty much staying classics with some new rock. That's why KXOR IMO made the New Orleans ratings for this go around..... Until 104.1 flipped, 106.3 was the only place to find new rock in the New Orleans area (even with a crappy signal due to bleedover from Martini 106.1)
