ReelWorld Launches Classic Hits Production on WCBS-FM

I'll better check CBS-FM to find out, and as for this one, I hate the new jingle package that CBS-FM put out by Reelworld, it stinks! I prefer the classic CBS-FM jingles made by JAM including the "Do It Again" package where the station has put out since 1994. In addition, I always love the Frank Gari era jingles that CBS-FM has been done since the 80's. there are some links to hear those classic CBS-FM jingles on YouTube and on Don Swaim's WCBS website. I'll have links to it later on. This new CBS-FM Reelworld jingles sucks. Stick with the JAM and Frank Gari jingles.

Indeed, the original era ("the station you sing along to...") of CBS-FM is the best. The worst, of course, being the "greatest hits of all time," pre-Jack format with a different logo.

Oh my God. These jingles suck! They really, really, really, really, really, sound like trash. Jim Ryan, take your trendy, fancy, synthetic, screechy jingles and please shove them up your ass! Then, promptly call the folks at JAM and get yourself an actual jingle package! Better yet, go hand in your resignation and let someone much older and more experienced than you call the shots! And with that, I wrest my case!

I really miss the WCBS-FM that was programmed by Joe McCoy. Nowadays I listen to WCBS-FM only about an hour a week.

I still recall, with great fondness, the Thursday lunchtime oldies concerts in the former WTC plaza. It's sad, however, to reflect on how many legendary jocks from the Joe McCoy days are no longer with us.

That said, the new jingles are, in a word, crapola.

Am I the only one who's quietly wondered if the folks unhappy with the Reel World CBS-FM jingles actually work for another jingle company who didn't get the job?

The folks here are talking about the jingles used on the main channel WCBS-FM-101.1 - nothing to do with format.

Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel used to run on WPLJ-HD2 when Scott was working at WPLJ / Cumulus;
it was discontinued shortly after his departure from PLJ in early 2014.
I don't believe it has ever resurfaced on an HD channel in New York since (I could be wrong).
