my friend is a cop in Malden. He said the police think RKO knew about it which is why they got rid of him. They are also looking into Reese and his producer joking about the rape on-air and that the producer cook knew about it. The producer might have destroyed evidence of Reese joking about it. Police say the girl is very young and her life has gone downhill since this happened. Question is when did RKO management learn of it and why did they not cooperate with police? Didn't RKO have a responsibilty to contact police if they knew he was wanted?
I saw Globe this morning but either I missed the article or it was an earlier edition (the Globe did have an article about Hopkins' upcoming "listener appreciation party" and it said that he hoped to get another job here in town: "I'm through with New York", he was quoted as saying. I'll check out Herald article now.

Reports say a former friend of his daughter is making this accusation, and it comes from when he was living in Connecticut. He was just on CNN this week, commenting on the presidential race. The chyron identified him as Reese on the Radio, and I thought they musta booked him last week before he was released.

yeah I think "Great Gamere" was the name of a football tips hotline he ran (used to do ads in papers)
No offense to YoYo, but to bring up your Malden Cop friend, and to throw out a story like that is just wrong. If what Resse did is true, he should rot in jail. Right now he hasn't been found guilty of anything. I wasn't a regular listener of his, and I'm not a big fan of WRKO, but even they wouldnt cover anything up that serious.

first tom the felon and now the rapist. Who is doing the hiring at RKO? No wonder Howie tried to escape. RKO is a joke. I think Reese was worse than Scotto, which is next to impossible.

I knew Bob Gamere and he is a tragic figure who was hard not to dislike. When he wasn't buzzed, he was funny personable and a great story teller. When he was drunk he was a complete pain in the A. His inability to get control of his serious drinking problem and reckless behavior cost him his career. He was a great talent who did quite a bit of radio. He was the Yankees radio play by play guy back in the early 70's and did morning sports and Harvard football on AM 1510.
Now, he is going to spend most of his final years in jai,l where he should be if convicted. It is a sad chapter in this sorted life

I heard Howie bashing Gamere, but I only listened during the last half hour. Something stinks about the Hopkins thing.
