Reese Hopkins arrested on rape charge

Actually, he appeared last Thursday on a panel segment on CNN Headline News' "Prime News" program. Yes, last Thursday, just hours after WRKO gave him the boot.

The best call Howie got was from a guy who said he should lay off Reese because he was "one of us". The caller then confessed that he too had been accused of molesting his own daughter. Good stuff!
 
class act? What is smoke smoking? He NEVER should have been hired or put on the radio in Boston. Class act? Why would a 16 yr old girl say something like that. He is in major trouble and sounds sick. Why would a young girl say that about someone who is not in her life. He like to kiss young girls on the mouth? Gee, I wonder why RKO put him on in the first place. Birds of a feather....

We have seen no evidence that her "life was ruined".

Only that the police arrested him.

Given the frequency of recanted stories in recent years, I would expect we would wait and let the courts do their thing. (Yovino, I would think you would know better.)

I always doubt these stories that take the "victim" years to come out. If nasty stuff was happening, why did this girl keep going over there? It is simply not logical.
 
I sat on the jury for a case which bared strong resemblance to this one (ie: young teen comes forward to report abuse from a few years ago, and the defendant is the parent of the plaintiff's friend).

My initial impression of the defendant was that he looked like someone who could commit a crime like this. But, as the judge reminded us, the defendant is innocent until proven guilty. We needed to consider all of the evidence.

After all of the evidence was presented, we came to the unanimous decision of innocent because there was simply no evidence to the contrary.

My point is that you have to keep an open mind and not rush to judgement.

Not sure if Smoke is right on this one.

Look at the rash of Catholic priest molestation accusations back in the 90s by former alter boys who were by this point grown men in their 30s & 40s. By your logic, all these priests were innocent...after all why did these boys keep going to church if they were getting molested? Not many people rushed to the defense of the church, indeed quite the opposite.

We'll have to wait & see on Mr. Hopkins.
 
You guys are sounding like you've had a good fill of media bull shit about sex abuse. It can take MANY years before someone discloses. And the victim returning to the perp over and over is NOT a defense. Abuse is abuse! Have you ever heard of coercion? Is he was in a position of power over the girl, it was abuse, no matter how many times, no matter when she reported it, no matter, no matter, no matter...

Unfortunately, I know this to be true first hand.
 
A good portion of those alter boys did come forward to their parents. Those parents in many cases did not believe or told the boy to "suck it up" and get over it. Things are very different these days.

Won't it be fun the next time WRKO cuts someone and we can all play "what crime did this employee commit?"
 
Strange that Howie Carr had his divorce papers sealed (public document) and he himself makes a living off digging up dirt on people.
