February 9, 2011 will be the start date of a trial. A day I am more than excited about. All I have wanted throughout this ordeal is for a jury to hear what I am accused of. I need a jury to hear the story from the accuser. Then, I will present indisputable proof of my innocence.

I am no rapist. I would not ever violate a person in such a way. It has been easy for people to make snap judgements but have not taken any time to justify them with fact. I will have the final say on the facts. No matter the attempts, the facts will not be disputed.

For now we play the waiting game. I sincerely hope and pray that an innocent man has not been unjustly imprisoned for 800 days...

Jury selection for Reese's trial will begin February 17; his trial will begin immediately after seating the jury.
 
it is alleged that one of the victims told her mother about the alleged abuse.

If Mom testifies he's done for.

Mom might be under pressure to roll over on Hopkins to save her own backside from child endangerment charges.

He has been waiting a long time for this trial
 
Talked to Reese at 3:00 today. "Mom" is not on the witness list. This article is a smear campaign by Rachel Ferrari. Otherwise "Mom" would have been called as a Hostile Witness facing Child Endangerment charges. Ditto on the charge that he also molested his step-daughter. That charge was made based on forged documents provided by an inmate looking for a better deal.
The Arresting Officer took the stand yesterday for the Defense. It was only the second time in his 20 years as a Sex Crimes investigator he has done so. Detective Breen will take the stand on Monday and the Defense will rest.
 
Yah I noticed that last night-- wasn't sure if it was a temporary technical problem or not, but that is quite mysterious.

That FB page was my primary source for updates on Reese's case. Perhaps as time moves on, we will learn more about what happened to the page, and what's happening with the case.

From what I was able to piece together closing arguments were expected today (monday) or tuesday. Then it is all up to the jury.
 
Seriously, I wonder who ordered that page to come down. That's just plain scary.
 
who ever created the page is free to take it down.

FB will remove pages that are too hot to handle, and up until someone started posting some crap over the weekend the discussions were civil.

There is no reason another page can't be started.

Then there are all sorts of consent decrees FB has entered into with various AG's about allowing people accused of or convicted of certain crimes to have accounts.

Ok, didn't notice this until today but things are looking pretty good for Reese.

Jurors voted 11 to 1 for acquittal; a mistrial was declared. (Article) Next trial date will be set in April.

The judge then lowered Reese's bail from $100,000 to $20,000. Efforts are underway to raise the money to release him. (Article)
 
Ayla contradicted everything that the accuser said. So the two investigating detectives are witnesses for the defense and Ayla is a defacto witness for the defense. All witnesses for the prosecution are locked into their testimony or risk perjury charges if they change it. Rachel Ferrari now has a worse case than she started with.

This should give pause to everyone who likes to bash the defense bar (and I plead guilty to that on occasion myself.) Your lawyer better be good, because the state has unlimited resources to try to convict you. Oftentimes, you're ruined even if you win.

On what can only be PC grounds, the DA in this case is prepared to piss away another couple of million taxpayer dollars to retry a case which has been overwhelmingly trashed by the jurors.

Someone more cynical than I could wonder when prosecution wanders into persecution territory.

I understand he is returning to gather up his belongings, meet up with a couple of friends, very low key.

He is still not out of the woods yet, plus he needs to find employment and housing now that he is no longer a guest of the State of New York.

Hopefully he transitions well.
