refreshing song list in SS32

We have done a lot of library maintenance recently. We've added/deleted/changed categories etc. Now in the control room, a ton of songs aren't showing up when I seach by Artist or Title. I know they are there (I can manually insert them), but they're not showing up when I try to "insert"

Is there a way to "refresh?"

Assuming you are using Dispatch, go to the Dispatch software, click the CONFIGURATION button along the bottom, then choose the SORTS tab at the top. Click the DUMP & RESORT button. Assuming this has been properly set up with paths, this will refresh everything. Good luck.

Awesome. Thanks guys. The problem just fixed itself as I knew it would, but this is good info for the future.

I assume it does this automatically every so often, but it's nice to know how to do it manually if needed.

A dump/resort's scheduled in Dispatch, usually over night.
TOC's maybe once or twice an hour.
I assumed it happened overnight, but that doesn't make sense in my situation.

All the music changes were done last Friday. When we came in on Monday, a lot of music wasn't showing up.

On tuesday, everything was back to normal.

Maybe we have it set up to not resort on weekends for some reason?

Anyways, not a huge deal...just kinda weird. But now I can do it manually so it's not a problem.

It should update itself when the song is uploaded. Don't let it rebuild needlessly overnight. This was often a source of problems. Do it manually, only when necessary, as described in the other post, and watch as all the categories are read and make sure it counts all the files and it doesn't time out and give up.
