Refreshing

A couple of refreshing things about Columbia radio. I really enjoy the special weekends B106 does. This weekend is "Girl Power". They do 70s and 80s weekends, etc. I guess I enjoy the fact someone is taking the time to do something special for the listeners these days.

Also, for some reason, I have noticed a few stations out doing remotes lately. Saw Big DM and Fox 102 out and about. Saw B106 out. Even saw New 92 out there. I don't know if Clear Channel has anyone to get out there anymore. I know these events are not what they used to be, but with all the people losing jobs, I was glad to see there were still enough folks around to have a presence for radio out there.

There was a thread here recently about longest running morning shows. But seeing Fox 102 out there made me think that Coco (or Koko?) has been at Fox for a very long time. I'm thinking twenty years maybe?

Koko replaced Dave Baker. So I am thinking she is close to 20 years at Fox. I think Jodi Page (Linda Noyes) has the record for longevity in one shift at one station in town. She's been doing middays at WTCB since at least 1991....
