Regarding CBS sports radio

Question for the masses... are shows on the cbs network available ala carte if a station already has an relationship with say espn or fox sports? Wondering if a station wanted to make a sports super station, could they?

I know that the Jim Rome Show can be for stations (other than those owned by Clear Channel) that were carrying it when it was distributed by Premire Radio Networks. While CBS Sports Radio has less than 50 regular affilates, well over 200 stations still carry Rome.

radio.com app for iphone is a good app to hear all the shows.

for the first week, i liked gottleib weekday-wise & mannix weekend-wise.

I believe Jim Rome affiliates had right of first refusal to his new show. I had 2 Rome affiliates in the area, one (largely local, fills in the gaps with FSR and carries NBCSR updates) picked his show up, the other (former clear channel station, almost exclusive FSR) stayed with Mohr.

Rome stuck around here on Cleveland's WKNR/850, his long-time home (well, the first hour is on the 1,000 watt little brother station we call "Puny 1540 KNR2", WWGK). Owned by Good Karma Broadcasting. CBS owns GKB's sports talk competitor, WKRK/92.3 "The Fan", but it's local morning until night as most large market CBS sports stations are.

I get the idea that WKNR/WWGK can hang onto Rome as long as they're willing to pay for him, and I don't see CBS moving Rome onto its own station (see last paragraph).

Rome lost all of his area Clear Channel affiliates (WARF/1350 Akron, WNIO/1390 Youngstown, WCWA/1230 Toledo et al.) to Jay Mohr on FSR.

"92.3 The Fan" afternoon drive co-host Adam "The Bull" Gerstenhaber is on the national CBS Sports Radio schedule from 10 PM-2 AM (ET) Saturday nights.

Hi! How are You Everybody? Me fine. For Us in Canada, I do not think that We will be able to listen to that new Sports Radio Network, because all the CBS affiliates Radio Stations We can not listen, because of Copyright issues, I do not understand that though, if Canadians Artists from a Canadian Company here in Canada would do some Promotions for those stations, I think it is only an excuse for those stations not having Canadian Listeners, They are not interested to have Canadian Listeners online, on regular radio is another matter though. No Canadian Radio Networks restrict that much American Listeners to listen online, except Special Events sometimes, but very rare. I do not know why Radio Networks in the USA, except Cummulus , do not care about Canadian Listeners and treating Us like that. The Canadian Government here is not doing much to help either. I miss to listen to the Fan 660 in New York, on regular radio like cars and home stereos there to much interference. And I miss to listen to WIP also.
I like Baseball very much and to listen to Local Radio Stations We could know what was happening with other MLB Teams and Their Minor League Teams, my Baseball Team is of course the Toronto Blue Jays. The only compromise is to listen to MLB Network on XM Sirius, but it is not the same thing. I Hope and Pray that NBC Radio that Canadian Listeners would be able to listen. But NBC is carrying the NHL(Which the League is back and it is Game On and it is Youpii!!) so I Hope They will think about Us Canadian Listeners. Take good care Everybody and have a nice 2013.

Digging the new network so far but two things they have to clean up is coming in and out of breaks (they've hit the music cutting off the hosts nearly every night) and giving a proper ending to shows. Countless times they cue the music for commercial or shows end with seconds to spare and they've come back from breaks a tad late and the host as already started talking.

Great line-up but some amatuer production that they need to clean up, and presumably will.
