Regarding Curtis 96.9 WYMY

I been lookeing at the rattings for 96.9 for a while they been down what is going on? Looks like too the spanish format has ran it's course. But the question is will curtis keep the spanish format? I would like to see a Oldies format with 102.9 that would kick but.

What is going on with the ratings of a Spanish language radio station? The economy.

I choose not to get banned so I'm not going any further. Read into it what you wish.

So I think you're trying to say that since the economy is in the toilet, the job market has shrunk, and therefore, the community of migrant workers, generally Latinos in this area, have gone elsewhere (outside of the 96.9 WYMY listening area) to find work.

If "Curtis Media Group" was smart, they would move the current oldies simulcast on 102.3/102.9 to 96.9, although the
ratings may not come up, it could work well, with a better signal.

I think classic country would work in Raleigh.....The Bear downeast gets solid numbers and I think 96.9 as a classic country would do well..Bring back some old QDR alumms and do it.The only question is how much would it hurt QDR and would Curtis risk wounding one of its cash cows????

Allen

I would go back as one of those old QDR alums Allen :D. Godd idea on classic country you know how I feel about that format!

96.9 La Ley is VERY successful in it's current format.

The streets of the Triangle are littered with bodies and remnants
of QDR challengers; WCMC, WRDU, WKXU, WKIX....even Classic Country
based stations Curtis has owned have folded or slipped off to another town.

History is the best teacher for most endeavors.

I heard Don Curtis spinning some classic country tonight on WPTF. I know he used to do a show playing older songs, and maybe a country song here or there, but nothing that was country song after country song after country song.
