Regarding KGUN 9 and Journal...

I had heard quite a few weeks ago that Journal was toying with the idea of buying KGUN TV from Emmis because Emmis wanted to concentrate solely on radio. Does anyone think it was a coincidence that Journal updated its KZPT tower, and that perhaps they plan to dump KZPT and/or Mega to Emmis? Just a thought.

Well, Journal wouldn't have to sell anything to accomodate a TV station into their Tucson cluster. They're well under the cap. Journal would have to swap a lot more radio than Tucson to Emmis to equal the value of KGUN.
